Top 20 Zombie Movies of All Time

The best zombie movies from 70 years of film-making about the Living Dead and their kin.

Zombie movies have increased in popularity, especially in recent years. When I grew up, it was just a small group of B-movie fans who loved zombie flicks, but now even mainstream audiences flock to see the undead on film. It's reached fever-pitch levels of fan-dom. Over a hundred zombie movies, and still counting; but zombie movies can be really good or really bad. It's hard to find a middle ground with the living dead.

Here are the top 20 Zombie movies of all time:

20 - Mutants (2009) Zombies in the dead of winter. Great suspense, an unusual winter twist.
19 - Land of the Dead (2005) Romero returns to Pittsburgh, dragging the living dead across the Three Rivers.
18 - Night of the Creeps (1986) Alien parasites turn humans into zombies.
17 - The Crazies (2010) a better remake of the 1973 movie about a virus that turns people into psychotic pseudo-zombies.
16 - Versus (2000) Japanese action zombie movie from Ryuhei Kitamura.
15 - White Zombie (1932) the earliest zombie film, still creepy.

13 - Cemetery Man (1994) he has to bury everyone twice.
12 - World War Z (2013) Brad Pitt took a lot of criticism for this, but it has all the elements. Good quick starting scenes, and a fast pace. You wanted more from a zombie film?
11 - Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004) and Extinction (2007)
10 - I am Legend (2007) The most recent remake of Vincent Price's "The Last Man on Earth," this time played by Will Smith. Legend was a pretty good remake for effects and style.

8 - Deadgirl (2008) Disturbing movie about 2 teen boys who find a "living dead" girl in an asylum.

1 - Night of the Living Dead (1968) George A. Romero's classic movie, shot on a small budget of $114K, still stands as the big daddy of zombie movies.
